| Description | Our school's IB program was established in 1994, with the first class graduation in 1997. Selection is competitive and presently 260 students are enrolled. Students attend IB classes with other IB students and attend elective classed with traditional program students. They participate widely in sports, student government, honor societies, service clubs, and fine arts programs such as band, chorus and drama. We encourage in-depth participation in extracurricular activities rather that wide involvement. We offer Pre-IB and AP courses in the 9th and 10th grade to prepare students for the IB Diploma Program. All IB students in the 11th and 12th grade are diploma candidates. Choctawhatchee High School has been a state of Florida A+ school for the three consecutive years. |

School District. In the May 8th 2006 edition of Newsweek Magazine,
Rutherford was named as one of the top 4% of the
high schools in the United States. Rutherford's IB program offers Pre-IB courses in the 9th and
10th grade to prepare students for the IB Diploma Program. All IB
students in the 11th and 12th grade are diploma candidates. Students
must apply for acceptance into the IB Program at RHS. |
